RSI has always had a strong reputation with employers in the HVAC/R industry. After almost 45 years we have hundreds of great relationships with companies that have recognized the value in hiring our graduates. But what happens when many of those companies are experiencing difficulty as a result of economic slowdown? Forces beyond their control limit their ability to hire people and presents new challenges for everyone such as suppliers, parts houses, and our graduates.
Not being one to stand on the sidelines where our students are concerned, RSI has taken an active approach to reaching out to make sure our graduates continue to be marketed to the industry. This happens by the traditional methods of making contact by phone and emails, but we have also started using some new tools that we are excited about.
One new tool that we are using is a monthly employer newsletter email. Every month industry employers in our database receive a newsletter completely targeted to their needs. We focus on a variety of topics such as marketing techniques, public relations information, and information about some of our graduates that are in the honors program. Another great tool we have available (as the article above mentions) is our employer portal. Employers can now go to our portal application and put in a profile and post jobs that they have available. Our Career Development Department can send graduates that meet the specifications over to interview with them. This allows employers to post job openings at no cost to them, in contrast to paid job boards, and allows greater efficiency in serving our students.
RSI continues to find ways to serve our students and graduates on a personal level every day. Our staff is dedicated to helping students reach their goals. Our philosophy has always been that our success is based on the success of our students.
